Muscat: Muscat, Muttrah, Al Amerat, Quriyyat, and parts of Bausher will face water supply disruption for 48 hours later this month.
According to Diam, water supply will be affected on February 28 and 29th due to the maintenance of Quriyat desalination plant.
According to Oman News Agency (ONA) the Main Emergency Committee at Diam held a meeting on Wednesday to discuss the request submitted by Hyflux Oman, the owner of the Quriyyat desalination plant for performing periodic maintenance.

Diam will take precautionary measures to reduce the impact of the water supply during the maintenance period, which will continue for 48 hours as the station feeds.
Those wilayats where these supply will be affected have been ensured for alternative arrangements.
“Pumping between Quriyyat, Al Ghubrah and Barka desalination plants have been arranged, in addition to using wells in the wilayats. The authority urges all subscribers to take the necessary measures and continue to rationalise water consumption,” ONA added.
