Muscat: As a lasting tribute, Kuwait’s Emir His Highness Sabah Al Ahmad Al Jaber Al Sabah, has ordered to name a major road in the country after the late His Majesty Sultan Qaboos bin Said bin Taimur.
According to media reports from Kuwait, the Emir who shared a special friendship with Arab world’s longest served ruler, has asked the cabinet to rename the road. “The cabinet will choose one among the seven popular road in Kuwait to be named after Sultan Qaboos. The municipal council in Kuwait will shortlist these roads and will finalise one within few days ,” said a media report.
Early last month, in his condolence message to His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik, Sheikh Sabah said he lost a dear brother and companion with whom he shared an outstanding personal relation. “The Sultanate, GCC family, Arab and Islamic nations have lost a wise leader who devoted his life for the service of his homeland, subjects and issues of the Arab and Islamic nations,” Sheikh Sabah said in his statement.
