Muscat: Oman has intensified its crackdown on illegal workers after it deported more than 80 workers and arrested 45 people in less than one week.
According to a statement by the Ministry of Manpower, 88 illegal expat workers were deported and 45 people were arrested for violating labour laws in the country.
“The Ministry has deported 88 illegal workers from February 2 – 8, 2020, who were arrested during the inspection campaigns”

“The Ministry, represented by the joint inspection team in Muscat, carried out an inspection on Saturday at Mawaleh Central Market of vegetables and fruits and neighbouring stores, where 45 illegal workers have been arrested for violation of the Labour Law,” the statement added.
