Oman’s fruits and vegetable market gets a facelift

From providing additional parking areas to installing 42 new toilets, the vegetable market has got a complete facelift.

MUSCAT: With an aim to satisfy needs of the market’s supply, display, sales, distribution and import of fruits and vegetables, the country’s central fruits and vegetables market in Mawaleh has been renovated with modern amenities. 

From providing additional parking areas to installing 42 new toilets, the vegetable market has got a complete facelift, according to the Muscat Municipality. 

In a statement issued on Wednesday, the Municipality also said an internal road leading to the market has been build. “We have created a new entrance at the central fruits and vegetables market, paving additional parking, building the internal roads, developing and cooling the customs inspection area,” Municipality said. The Municipality also set up a rainwater drainage channel and a special corridor for forklifts.
