MUSCAT – These projects aim to improve the performance of the electrical network, provide the necessary reserve capacity and operational flexibility, increase efficiency, reduce losses, and comply with network security standards across the various wilayats of the governorate.
Eng. Mohammed Rashid Al Qari, Director General of Major Projects at Nama Electricity Distribution Company, stated that the total cost of the projects currently underway and planned for implementation during the current year 2026 in the Musandam Governorate amounts to approximately RO 5,077,000.
He added in a statement to Oman News Agency (ONA) that the implementation of electrical projects in the Musandam Governorate aims to upgrade the infrastructure and develop the services provided to citizens, various sectors, and projects in all areas of the governorate. This supports achieving development in the governorate’s wilayats and meets the needs of population growth and citizens’ aspirations for electricity services.

He pointed out that implementing projects in the governorate requires prior planning to overcome logistical and geographical challenges during implementation, given the region’s topography.
He clarified that these projects come within the developmental plans implemented by the company to enhance the efficiency of the electrical network and increase its absorptive capacity. This keeps pace with the urban expansion and population growth witnessed by the wilayats of the Musandam Governorate, as well as the growth in tourism and economic activity during the recent period, given the stunning nature and economic elements of the governorate.
Al Qari mentioned that these projects will enhance the stability of the electrical network and improve the quality of supply in various sectors, contributing to the development of infrastructure and achieving economic and social development in the governorate.
