MUSCAT- Al Mouj Muscat has secured regional recognition for Al Mouj Walk, its waterfront retail and leisure destination, winning Silver at the MECSR MENA Shopping Centre & Retailer Awards 2026 for THE MARKET, its seasonal outdoor retail and entrepreneurship initiative. Recognised in the Marketing Excellence Award for Community Engagement & Impact category, THE MARKET has strengthened Al Mouj Walk’s position as a platform for local businesses and community experiences, contributing to a 33% year-on-year increase in Saturday visitation and 10% growth in tenant sales during its first season.
Announced at the awards ceremony in Dubai, the accolade recognises THE MARKET’s success in turning a weekly marketplace into a platform for local enterprise and a driver of activity across Al Mouj Walk. By bringing independent businesses into an established retail and dining environment, the initiative demonstrated how community-led programming can deliver impact beyond the marketplace itself.
Ahmed Al Massan, Acting CEO of Al Mouj Muscat, said: “The true value of a destination lies in what it creates for the people and businesses within it. This requires looking beyond traditional retail and recognising community engagement as an integral part of building places that remain relevant and commercially successful. THE MARKET reflects this approach, demonstrating how thoughtful programming can respond to changing consumer expectations while contributing to the vitality of established retail destinations.”

Featuring local SMEs and emerging brands across food, fashion, art, beauty and wellness, it gave independent businesses a direct route to customers while introducing a changing mix of products and discoveries to Al Mouj Walk.
Building on its award-winning debut, Al Mouj Muscat is now preparing for the return of THE MARKET. The next season will introduce exciting new offerings, expanding opportunities for local businesses and further enriching Al Mouj Walk’s retail and lifestyle proposition.
