MUSCAT: Sree Kakkannoor temple, a century old temple in South Indian state of Kerala, India has offered a mass feast to more than 4,000 needy people and offered prayers in memory of the late His Majesty Sultan Qaboos bin Said bin Taimur.
Last week, The Arabian Stories, had reported about the feast plans at Sree Kakkannor temple, located in Edacherry, Vadakara in Kozhikode.
It’s worth noting that the feast was hosted during its annual festival thirayattam which will be held from January 29 to February 3.

“Sultan Qaboos loved not just his own people but those expats who worked and stayed in Oman too. He was a father figure to us,” said Raju an NRI based in Edachery.
“Most of the people residing in this area are working in Oman and they discussed this idea with the management of the temple who agreed to do this gesture in memory of the great leader,” he said.
According to the temple management, the feast was offered to the destitutes, orphans, elderly and poor people in the district.
