Muscat: Darker car window tints can lead to the vehicle being confiscated, according to the Royal Oman Police (ROP).

As per the law, the tint in the car windows should not exceed 30 per cent. Motorists who fail to comply with the rule will be booked for the offense.

According to ROP, the vehicle of the driver who are caught with repeated offense in less than 90-days of the first offense, will be confiscated. “The vehicle may be seized if the opacity of the glass exceeds the limit prescribed within 90 days from the date of the first violation,” ROP added.

“Tinting beyond the limit is one of the reasons for many accidents,” said an ROP official.
