Muscat: One person died and another injured when a cooking gas cylinder exploded at a restaurant in Ibri in Al Dhahira region, the Public Authority for Civil Defence and Ambulance (PACDA) reported on Tuesday.

Preliminary investigations suggested a cooking gas exploded, setting off a fire and causing part of the building to collapse.


“PACDA has called-on everyone to comply with the rules and safely store the gas cylinders as per the requirement set by the authorities,” PACDA said.

This is the second fire incident in less than a week. On Monday, several shops were gutted in fire in Barka.
