Muscat: British Prime Minister Boris Johnson has arrived in Muscat to offer his condolences following the death of HM Sultan Qaboos bin Said Al Said of Oman.
The Prime Minister attended a condolence ceremony and met His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tariq Al Said at Al Alam Palace.
Johnson, who met Sultan Qaboos as Foreign Secretary in December 2017 and January 2018, described him as “an exceptionally wise and respected leader who will be missed enormously”.

In a statement on Saturday Mr Johnson said he was “deeply saddened” to hear of the death of the Sultan.
He said: “He will be remembered for his devotion to the development of Oman into a stable and prosperous nation, and as the father of the nation who sought to improve the lives of the Omani people.
