Everyone is raving about Samantha Ruth Prabhu’s homemade filter coffee chia pudding, which she shared recently in the media along with one of the most delicious and simple breakfast recipes.
Now, did you know that this unique recipe, in addition to being delicious, has plenty of health benefits?
Here is a two-step method to put the recipe together:
Step 1 – In a deep mixing bowl, add 1-2 tablespoon chia seeds, 1/4th cup of maple syrup, ½ cup coconut milk, 2 tablespoon filter coffee or instant coffee decoction, and 2 tablespoon cocoa powder. Mix it well together.
Step 2 – Refrigerate the mixture overnight, and serve it the next morning with a topping of fresh berries, chocolate chips or dry fruits to taste.
Benefits of each ingredient:
Chia seeds are a great source of heart-healthy omega-3 fatty acids, fibre, antioxidants, and minerals. They have been connected with decreased heart disease and diabetes risk factors, and are known to be advantageous for gut health and digestion.
Coconut milk has many positive health effects, some of which are as follows: it may speed up metabolism, aid in digestion, ward off fungus and viral infections, combat bacteria, act as an antioxidant, and safeguard against cancer.
Filter Coffee has many anti-inflammatory and anticarcinogenic qualities, which can lessen the effects of melanoma, oral, prostate, and liver cancer. As a result, you may consider drinking filter coffee as a precautionary.
Cocoa powder is abundant in theobromine (principal alkaloid of the cacao bean), which can lower inflammation and shield you against conditions including diabetes, cancer, and heart disease. The calories in cocoa powder are full of healthful chemicals since cocoa is low in fat and sugar and high in phytonutrients.
Pure maple syrup has high antioxidant content and provides minerals like potassium, magnesium, calcium, zinc, and riboflavin with each spoonful. Free radicals produce oxidative damage, which is thought to be one of the processes underlying ageing and many diseases.
