MUSCAT : As part of the Seva Pakhwada Campaign (17 September – 2 October), the Embassy of India, Muscat, observed the ‘Swachhata Hi Seva 2026’ initiative, reaffirming its commitment to cleanliness, community participation and environmental sustainability.
Ambassador Prashant Pise inaugurated the initiative by administering the Swachhata Pledge to Embassy officials and staff, reiterating the importance of maintaining cleanliness and fostering a sense of collective responsibility towards a cleaner environment. The pledge was followed by a cleanliness drive, during which Embassy officials and staff came together in the spirit of Shramdaan to clean the surroundings and promote the values of Swachhata.
As part of the campaign, tree saplings were planted under the ‘Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam’ initiative, underscoring the Embassy’s commitment to environmental conservation and the creation of a greener and more sustainable future.

The Embassy also felicitated its Safai Mitras in recognition of their dedicated service and invaluable contribution towards maintaining a clean, hygienic and welcoming environment. The felicitation acknowledged their tireless efforts and highlighted the important role they play in upholding the spirit of ‘Swachhata Hi Seva’. With these initiatives, the Embassy reaffirmed that cleanliness is not merely an individual responsibility but a collective endeavour, requiring sustained participation and commitment from all sections of society.
