MOSCOW : Oman’s participation in the exhibition is aimed at promoting the quality and competitiveness of national products, opening new export channels and helping Omani companies build direct commercial links with importers, distributors, buyers and investors.
His Excellency Hamoud bin Salem Al Tuwaih, Ambassador of the Sultanate of Oman to the Russian Federation, said the Russian market offers promising opportunities for Omani products and could serve as a gateway to wider markets across Eurasia and Central Asia.
He said participation in specialised international exhibitions is an important tool for introducing national products to importers and distributors while supporting efforts to diversify Oman’s non-oil export markets.

The 35th edition of World of Food – Moscow features more than 1,100 exhibitors from over 30 countries and 60 Russian regions, offering participating Omani companies an opportunity to study market demand and establish relationships that could develop into long-term partnerships and export agreements.
The Ambassador said the participation of 16 Omani companies reflects the diversity of national products and the growing interest among local firms in expanding internationally.
Beyond showcasing products, he said such exhibitions allow companies to understand consumer preferences, pricing, packaging requirements and applicable technical and health standards, helping them adapt their products and improve competitiveness.
He added that the platform is particularly valuable for Omani small and medium enterprises, giving them direct access to importers, distributors and potential partners who may otherwise be difficult to reach through traditional marketing channels.
During his visit to the Omani companies participating in the exhibition, H.E. Al Tuwaih reviewed the products on display and praised their diversity and quality, as well as the efforts made by companies to develop their offerings and strengthen their presence in international markets.
He stressed that establishing a sustainable presence abroad requires companies to treat international exhibitions as part of a long-term market strategy rather than one-off events. Businesses should follow up on contacts established during exhibitions, build relationships with local partners and develop suitable distribution and export channels, he said.
The Ambassador also highlighted the role of the Omani Embassy in Moscow in supporting companies interested in entering the Russian market. This includes providing information on market characteristics, connecting firms with importers and distributors, facilitating bilateral meetings and helping build stronger links between the private sectors of both countries.
He said diplomatic missions increasingly play a role in economic and investment promotion, helping connect business communities and identify trade and investment opportunities that support economic diversification.
His Excellency said there is significant scope to expand Oman-Russia economic cooperation in areas including food security, food manufacturing, agriculture, storage, logistics and re-export.
Russia has strong capabilities in grain, agricultural and food production, while Oman offers a strategic geographical location, modern ports and logistics infrastructure, as well as investment opportunities in fisheries, food industries, storage and logistics.
These strengths, he said, could support deeper economic integration between the two countries, extending beyond conventional exports and imports to investment partnerships in production, manufacturing, storage, distribution and re-export.
Oman’s participation also supports the objectives of Oman Vision 2040, particularly in diversifying the economy, strengthening non-oil sectors, improving the competitiveness of national products and increasing the private sector’s integration with global markets.
H.E. Al Tuwaih expressed hope that Oman’s presence at the exhibition would translate into tangible outcomes, including new export channels, stronger relationships with agents and distributors, and long-term commercial partnerships in Russia and neighbouring markets.
He urged Omani companies interested in the Russian market to closely study its technical, health and commercial requirements and take advantage of specialised exhibitions to build direct relationships with potential partners.
The Embassy of the Sultanate of Oman in Russia, he added, will continue to support national companies, facilitate connections with potential partners and promote available trade and investment opportunities to strengthen bilateral economic ties and expand the presence of Omani products in international markets.
