MUSCAT: The seizure was made during a marine monitoring patrol conducted by the Fisheries Control Team in coordination with the Coast Guard Police.
The ministry said the use of purse seine nets without a licence constitutes a violation of the provisions of the Living Aquatic Resources Law, its executive regulations and Ministerial Decision No. 183/2016.
The incident was documented, and the necessary legal procedures are being completed against the violators, according to the ministry.
