MUSCAT : The Indian community in Oman came together on Saturday to celebrate India’s 80th Independence Day, with a flag-hoisting ceremony held at the Embassy of India in Muscat.
H.E. Prashant Pise, Ambassador of India to the Sultanate of Oman, hoisted the Indian national flag during the morning ceremony, which was attended by a large number of members of the Indian community.
The gathering formed part of Independence Day celebrations marking 80 years since India gained independence.

Members of the community gathered at the embassy premises for the occasion, reflecting the strong presence of the Indian diaspora in Oman and the longstanding people-to-people ties between India and the Sultanate.
Independence Day is observed across India and by Indian communities around the world on August 15 each year.
