Oman records over 11,000 expat labour violations, nearly 3,000 deportations in H1 2026

Oman’s Ministry of Labour recorded 11,172 violations involving expatriate workers during the first half of 2026, following 6,707 inspection visits carried out across the Sultanate.

MUSCAT: The ministry’s executive summary of inspection results showed a 69.5 percent compliance rate, reflecting the impact of inspection campaigns on workplace conditions and labour-market compliance.

Authorities referred 4,680 cases to the Public Prosecution, while 2,944 workers were deported following enforcement measures. The ministry also reported that 272 employment opportunities were registered pursuant to settlement decisions.
