MUSCAT: According to the Consumer Protection Authority (CPA), the court convicted the establishment’s representative for failing to deliver the agreed service to the standard required and ordered the payment of a RO 500 fine, in addition to the costs of the public prosecution proceedings.
The case stemmed from a complaint filed by a consumer who had contracted the workshop to repaint a vehicle and replace its fuel filter, with the work due to be completed within 10 days.
The authority said the workshop failed to carry out the repairs to the required standard, with the same defect recurring several times. As a result, the vehicle remained out of service for extended periods, prompting the consumer to seek legal action.
