MUSCAT – According to the CPA, the case involved a consumer who contracted the establishment to organise an event and provide meals for 300 guests for a total value of RO 750. The consumer paid an advance of RO 500.
The authority said the establishment failed to provide the agreed sample meal and delayed refunding the advance payment, prompting the consumer to file a complaint.
The court found the defendant guilty of the misdemeanour of failing, as a supplier, to provide the service properly and in accordance with its nature, in violation of the provisions of the Consumer Protection Law.
