MUSCAT – The alerts indicate moderate weather impacts around the Al Hajar Mountains and surrounding areas, with thundershowers expected from noon, followed by strong downdraft winds from 1 pm.
Active winds causing moderate conditions have also been reported since 8:38 am across a number of coastal and desert areas, including Duqm, Al Jazer, Al Mudhaibi, Bidiya, Jalan Bani Bu Hassan, Jalan Bani Bu Ali, Masirah, Shalim, the Hallaniyat Islands, Taqah, Mirbat and Sadah.
Meanwhile, a lower-level weather alert for rainfall has remained in effect along parts of the Dhofar Governorate coastline since midnight.
