New Delhi: India’s leading carriers, Air India, Air India Express, and IndiGo, are expected to spearhead the resumption, reconnecting Doha with several major Indian cities and regional hubs.
The announcement was confirmed by the Embassy of India in Doha, which stated that operations will gradually restart from May 1, 2026, as part of a broader effort to restore aviation services across the region.
“Indian carriers plan to resume operations at Hamad International Airport, Doha, as flight operations continue to expand,” the embassy noted in a post, adding that services between Doha and multiple Indian destinations will be reinstated in phases.

The move comes exactly two months after a joint US-Israeli military offensive on February 28 targeting Iranian leadership and nuclear facilities, which escalated into a wider regional conflict. The resulting tensions led to widespread disruption of air traffic across the Middle East.
Despite its role as a mediator during the crisis, Qatar was significantly affected. Its airspace remained largely closed to commercial flights for nearly two months, with Hamad International Airport operating only limited emergency and evacuation services since early March.
However, authorities have cautioned that flight schedules remain subject to ongoing coordination, reflecting the still-sensitive security environment. Passengers are advised to stay in close contact with airlines for real-time updates on schedules, terminal changes, and booking statuses.
