WASHINGTON — U.S. President Donald Trump was evacuated from the White House Correspondents’ Dinner in Washington, D.C., on Saturday night after reports of gunfire outside the venue triggered panic among guests.
Shots were reportedly heard near the hotel ballroom where Trump had been seated ahead of the annual media event, prompting immediate security action.
Videos from the scene showed Trump and other attendees taking cover behind tables as voices shouted, “Get down!” and “Stay down!” while chaos unfolded inside the hall.
