Oman’s tourism sector GDP grows 3.7% to RO 1.135 billion in 2025

The direct gross domestic product (GDP) of Oman’s tourism sector at current prices reached approximately RO 1.135 billion by the end of December 2025, marking a 3.7% increase compared to RO 1.095 billion recorded in 2024.

MUSCAT – The total direct value added from tourism rose to about RO 1.107 billion, up from RO 1.065 billion in the same period of 2024, reflecting a growth rate of 4 percent.

Total tourism output increased to RO 2.284 billion by the end of 2025, compared to RO 2.119 billion in 2024, registering a 7.8 percent rise. Meanwhile, total tourism consumption reached RO 1.177 billion, an increase of 11.6 percent.

The figures were published in a report issued by the National Centre for Statistics and Information, which tracks the contribution of the tourism sector to GDP at current and constant prices for the fourth quarter and full year 2025. The report also highlighted growth across several tourism-related activities and improvements in key economic indicators.

In the fourth quarter of 2025, tourism’s direct GDP stood at around RO 330 million, slightly lower than RO 331 million in the same quarter of 2024. The sector’s contribution to GDP remained at 3 percent during the quarter.

At the level of economic activities, accommodation services recorded a 17 percent increase, reaching RO 252.1 million. Other services grew by 18 percent to RO 197.9 million, while restaurant services rose 3.5 percent to Ro 198.9 million. Transport services increased by 1.1 percent to RO 196.5 million. In contrast, travel and booking agency services declined by 12.2 percent to RO 242.7 million.

At constant prices, the tourism sector’s direct GDP rose to RO 1.155 billion by the end of 2025, compared to RO 1.092 billion in 2024, a 5.7 percent increase. The total direct value added also grew by 6.5 percent to RO 1.095 billion.

The report further showed that total tourism output at constant prices reached RO 2.174 billion, up 5.5 percent, while total tourism consumption increased by 4.4 percent to RO 1.079 billion compared to 2024.
