MUSCAT : According to the alert, which comes into effect from 2:00 AM until 10:00 PM on Wednesday, a number of regions, including Al Dhahirah, Al Dakhiliyah, North and South Al Sharqiyah, Al Wusta, southern parts of Muscat, and the mountainous areas of South Al Batinah, will experience varying intensities of rainfall. These showers may turn thundery at times and will be accompanied by active winds.

The CAA has classified the overall impact level as low to moderate, but cautioned that rainfall could lead to flash flooding in wadis and low-lying areas. Wind speeds are expected to range between 18 to 35 knots (33 to 46 km/h), potentially causing reduced horizontal visibility during periods of heavy rain.

Other parts of the country, including Muscat, Musandam, Al Buraimi, North Al Batinah, and Dhofar, are also likely to receive scattered light to moderate rainfall, occasionally accompanied by thunderstorms. These areas are expected to experience a lower level of impact.

Authorities have urged the public to exercise caution during this period. Residents are advised to avoid crossing flooded wadis, stay away from low-lying areas, and refrain from heading out to sea while the warning remains in effect.
