UAE, Qatar condemn drone attack on Salalah Port, affirm support for Oman

The United Arab Emirates and the State of Qatar have strongly condemned the drone attack targeting the Port of Salalah in Oman, which caused damage to several fuel storage tanks.

MUSCAT : In separate statements, both countries expressed solidarity with the Sultanate of Oman and reaffirmed their support for efforts to safeguard the country’s security, stability and the safety of its citizens and residents.

The UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs denounced the attack as a dangerous escalation and a violation of international law. The ministry stressed the UAE’s full solidarity with Oman and its backing for all measures aimed at preserving the Sultanate’s security and maintaining stability in the region.



Similarly, Qatar condemned the drone strike on Salalah Port, describing it as a blatant act of aggression and a clear breach of international law and its principles.

In a statement, the Qatari Ministry of Foreign Affairs said the attack was particularly concerning given Oman’s continued efforts to ease tensions and promote dialogue in the region. Targeting Oman, the ministry noted, amounted to an unacceptable act against a country that has played a key role in mediation and de-escalation efforts.

The ministry added that the incident represented a dangerous escalation that could undermine regional and international initiatives aimed at strengthening security and stability.

Qatar reiterated its full solidarity with Oman and affirmed its support for all steps taken by the Sultanate to protect its sovereignty, security and stability.
