MUSCAT: Omani authorities have shot down several drones after multiple unmanned aerial vehicles targeted areas near the Port of Salalah, according to a security source cited by Oman TV’s News Center on Wednesday.
The source said that several drones were successfully intercepted and brought down by defence systems, while other drones struck fuel storage tanks at Salalah Port.
Authorities confirmed that no human casualties have been reported as a result of the incident.

The statement added that specialised agencies are continuing their efforts to monitor and counter what were described as hostile targets, while taking necessary measures to safeguard the country’s security and the safety of citizens and residents.
