MUSCAT : According to the authority, one of its primary responsibilities is ensuring that aviation operations align with global standards and recommended practices issued by the International Civil Aviation Organisation. By supervising the implementation of these standards, the regulator aims to maintain high international compliance indicators in both aviation safety and aviation security.
The authority also focuses on developing national expertise in critical aviation fields, including safety management, aviation security, accident investigation and environmental protection linked to aviation activities.
Officials said modern monitoring tools and advanced systems are being deployed to strengthen oversight across the aviation sector. These systems enable regulators to track safety performance and ensure that airlines, airports and other civil aviation service providers consistently meet the highest safety requirements.
The Civil Aviation Authority further stressed the importance of strict regulatory monitoring to ensure compliance across all aviation operations.
It further pointed out that airlines, airports and all civil aviation service providers are monitored to ensure adherence to the highest levels of safety and security, noting that maintaining these standards is essential to protecting passengers, crew and aviation infrastructure.
In addition, the regulator encourages the immediate reporting of any illegal acts or incidents that may threaten aviation safety or security. Dedicated communication channels and reporting platforms have been established to allow swift reporting and prompt response to potential risks.
