DUBAI : Masoud Pezeshkian said Iran has apologised to neighbouring countries and stressed that Tehran holds no hostility toward them, according to remarks carried by Iranian and regional media on Saturday.
Pezeshkian said Iran’s leadership had agreed not to carry out missile strikes or military attacks against neighbouring states unless an assault on Iran originates from their territory.
“We apologise to neighbouring countries and affirm that we have no enmity with them,” the Iranian president said, adding that Iran does not intend to target nearby nations.

He said the country’s interim leadership council had reached a consensus that Iran would refrain from launching attacks against neighbouring states unless Iran itself is attacked from within those countries.
The remarks come amid heightened tensions in the Middle East and growing concerns among Gulf nations about potential spillover from regional conflicts.
