MUSCAT – The Royal Oman Police have arrested a citizen accused of stealing catalytic converters from several vehicles he had previously rented from car rental companies in the Governorate of Muscat, authorities said on Monday.
In a statement, the Royal Oman Police said the arrest was carried out by the Directorate General of Inquiries and Criminal Investigations. The suspect allegedly removed the vehicle parts after renting the cars from multiple rental outlets in the capital.
Police also apprehended an Asian expatriate suspected of participating in dismantling the stolen parts and selling them, the statement said.
