MUSCAT – This initiative highlights the ongoing Royal commitment to consolidating the status of science and knowledge, strengthening the scientific research and innovation ecosystem as a fundamental pillar of comprehensive and sustainable development in the Sultanate of Oman.
Her Excellency Dr. Rahma Ibrahim Al Mahrouqi, Minister of Higher Education, Research and Innovation, told Oman News Agency (ONA) that this award represents a practical translation of the Royal keenness in empowering Omani citizens and investing in research and creative potential. She noted that such efforts contribute to the transition toward a knowledge and innovation-based economy, enhancing Oman’s regional and international competitiveness in alignment with the goals of Oman Vision 2040.
She added that the award serves as a qualitative national incentive for researchers and innovators. It provides a leading platform to honour scientific and creative excellence while encouraging applied research with a developmental impact. By linking research outcomes with societal needs and development requirements, the award fosters integrated roles between academic and research institutions and both the government and private sectors.
