Muscat: The Directorate General of Consumer Protection in North Al Batinah Governorate, represented by the Consumer Protection Office in Al Suwaiq, acted after receiving a report about an individual allegedly changing expiry dates on Raqaq bread inside a vehicle parked in front of a commercial centre in Al Khabourah.
After verifying the report, officials seized more than 220 packs of bread that had been prepared for distribution.
According to the CPA, inspections also found that the products were being transported under conditions that did not comply with prescribed health and safety requirements.

The Authority said the necessary legal procedures were initiated in connection with the case as part of efforts to safeguard consumer health and safety.
