DOHA : The Sultanate’s delegation is headed by His Excellency Sheikh Ghosn bin Hilal Al-Alawi, Head of the State Financial and Administrative Audit Institution, and includes leaders of anti-corruption bodies, alongside representatives of international organisations, academic institutions, professional bodies and researchers. The conference is among the world’s most significant platforms for combating corruption, bringing together all 192 signatory countries to the UNCAC.
Addressing the conference on behalf of Oman, HE Sheikh Ghosn reaffirmed the Sultanate’s strong commitment to working with the international community to promote integrity and combat corruption, stressing the importance of exchanging expertise and knowledge to support sustainable development. He said Oman’s participation reflects the objectives of Oman Vision 2040, launched by His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik, which prioritises effective oversight, accountability, transparency and the efficient use of public funds to enhance government performance and economic value.
He noted that since joining the UN Convention against Corruption in 2013, Oman has taken consistent steps to prevent and combat corruption while strengthening integrity and accountability in public financial management. As part of these efforts, the Sultanate launched the National Integrity Enhancement Plan 2022–2030, based on global best practices. The plan seeks to unify the efforts of government, the private sector and civil society through key pillars including legislative development, institutional integration, community awareness and international cooperation, with clearly defined roles and responsibilities.
