Muscat: The warning will remain in effect from 12:00 am on Tuesday until 12:00 am on Wednesday, according to the authority’s latest advisory issued on Monday, December 15, 2025.

The CAA said the weather system affecting Musandam is expected to bring moderate to heavy rainfall ranging between 20 and 60 millimetres, accompanied by thunderstorms and occasionally strong downdrafts. These conditions may lead to flash floods in wadis and valleys, posing risks to residents and motorists in vulnerable areas.

In addition to heavy rain, active downdrafts with wind speeds of 15 to 35 knots (28–64 km/h) are expected, along with high sea waves reaching 1.5 to 2 metres along the coasts of Musandam and the Sea of Oman. The authority also warned of reduced horizontal visibility during periods of rainfall, which could affect road and marine safety.

Weather impacts are also forecast to extend to Al Buraimi, North Al Batinah, South Al Batinah, and parts of the Hajar Mountains, where scattered showers, occasionally thundery, may occur and trigger flash flooding in some wadis and valleys.
