MUSCAT : The main celebration is being held at the Said bin Sultan Naval Base, under the patronage of His Excellency Salem bin Mohammed Al- Mahrouqi, Minister of Heritage and Tourism.

During the ceremony, the Minister presented the Long Service and Good Conduct Medal to a number of SAF personnel in recognition of their dedication, professionalism, and honourable service.

A joint military band also performed a selection of musical pieces and compositions as part of the programme.

This national occasion honours the historic achievements of the Sultan’s Armed Forces since the establishment of the Day in 1975. The celebratory events reflect various aspects of progress and prosperity in Oman, as well as the great attention accorded to the SAF by His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik, the Supreme Commander.
