MUSCAT : The Omani delegation was headed by His Excellency Nasser bin Khamis Al-Jashmi, Head of the Tax Authority.
The meeting focused on strategic priorities across three main tracks: continuous monitoring and follow-up on the implementation of international transparency standards, conducting peer reviews, and assessing the effectiveness of these standards in member states. Activities related to capacity-building and technical assistance programs to support member states in developing their tax systems were also reviewed.
The event saw broad participation, with over 400 representatives from 124 member states, alongside 12 observers, seven invited non-member countries, and representatives from civil society and academic institutions.
On the sidelines of the meeting, the Tax Authority signed an addendum to amend the Common Reporting Standard (CRS). This step reflects Oman’s ongoing efforts to develop its systems, enhance the effectiveness of automatic information exchange, and align with global developments, reaffirming the Sultanate’s commitment to achieving the highest standards of transparency in tax matters.
