MUSCAT : Speaking during the National Day celebrations in Makati City, the Ambassador stated that Filipino nationals would be granted visa-free access for visits of up to approximately two weeks.
If formally implemented, the move would make Oman the first Middle Eastern country to extend this travel privilege to Philippine passport holders, a measure expected to significantly increase the number of Filipino tourists.
The Ambassador also hinted that the initiative could lead to an increase in flight connections between the two countries. “There is a plan to have another direct flight to Cebu. It’s not only Oman Air; other airlines are also looking into it. We are exploring ways to increase flights from Manila,” he said.
Currently, Oman allows 14-day visa-free entry to citizens of over 100 countries, but the Philippines is not yet on that list. If confirmed, the move would make travel to Oman easier for Filipino tourists and could strengthen people-to-people and business ties between the two nations.
