MUSCAT – His Excellency Sayyid Badr bin Hamad Al Busaidi, Minister of Foreign Affairs, represented the Sultanate at the meeting and underscored the depth and strength of the long-standing friendship between Oman and France, a relationship founded on mutual trust and respect.
His Excellency highlighted the significant progress that Omani-French relations have witnessed in recent years, particularly in the areas of security, trade, and cultural exchange, emphasizing the importance of building on this momentum to further enhance Gulf-French cooperation in pursuit of shared interests.
Addressing the Palestinian issue, His Excellency reaffirmed its status as a central and urgent priority. He expressed appreciation for the efforts of France and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in co-chairing the summit on the two-state solution, and reiterated the need to restore credibility to the peace process through practical, concrete steps.
He stressed the necessity of ending the cycle of violence, protecting civilians, and establishing a genuine political pathway that secures the Palestinian people’s right to self-determination and the creation of an independent Palestinian state.

His Excellency also expressed the Sultanate’s appreciation for France’s recognition of the Palestinian right to statehood, calling on the international community to take a firm stand against the grave violations committed by the Israeli government against the Palestinian people.
He affirmed that achieving a just and lasting peace requires constructive dialogue, built on addressing legitimate concerns and reinforcing mutual trust. The Minister noted that the Sultanate of Oman, along with its GCC partners, has consistently worked to open channels of communication, reduce tensions, and avoid confrontations, especially on critical issues such as nuclear non-proliferation, maritime security, and regional conflicts.
Concluding his remarks, His Excellency emphasized that the Gulf-French partnership holds real value when it translates into tangible results and practical cooperation. He stated that the ongoing injustice and suffering of the Palestinian people remains the most urgent challenge facing the region today, with serious implications for regional security and stability.
