MOSCOW – The delegation was led by Eng. Ibrahim bin Abdullah Al Hosani, OCCI Board Member and Chairman of the Chamber’s Digital Economy and Artificial Intelligence Committee.

As part of its programme, the delegation visited the Skolkovo Innovation Center, Russia’s leading hub for technological innovation, where members were briefed on various tech startups and projects incubated at the foundation. The delegation also toured several Russian companies and industrial facilities operating in sectors such as advanced technology, mining, and logistics services.

The delegation actively participated in the BRICS Future Urban Forum (Cloud Cities Forum) in Moscow, presenting working papers on ‘The Power of Algorithms: Strategies Toward the World of Artificial Intelligence’ and ‘The Conscience of Robots: Artificial Intelligence, Data, and Ethics’.

Additionally, the delegation took part in a special session titled ‘From Moscow to the Middle East: A Net Partnership’, held on the sidelines of the main forum. Bilateral meetings were also organized with Russian companies to explore avenues for cooperation and investment.

The OCCI delegation met with officials from the Embassy of the Sultanate of Oman in Moscow, including Counsellor Mohammed Al Habsi, Deputy Ambassador, and several embassy advisors. The meeting reviewed the outcomes of engagements with Russian firms and explored future cooperation opportunities, particularly in software development and advanced digital technologies.

A joint session was also held with the Moscow Chamber of Commerce and Industry, led by its President, Vladimir Platonov, who praised the longstanding Omani-Russian economic ties—set to mark their 40th anniversary in November. Both chambers emphasized the importance of holding regular meetings to foster deeper collaboration between business communities. Russian companies also gave presentations showcasing their operations and potential areas of partnership with Omani enterprises.

Eng. Ibrahim bin Abdullah Al Hosani affirmed that the Chamber’s participation in these events and high-level meetings represents a significant step toward forging new economic and investment partnerships with Russia. He expressed confidence that the positive outcomes of the visit will contribute to strengthening trade relations and expanding cooperation in advanced technology, digital economy, and industrial sectors.
