MUSCAT – Registration for the competition is available via the competition’s official website: https://sqhccs.gov.om/iqraa/register.

Held annually as a cultural initiative from the Centre, the competition aims to foster reading habit among young people, enhance their cultural awareness, and encourage them to frequent libraries. This contributes to building their personalities, expanding their intellectual and cognitive horizons, and promoting national values and cultural identity.

The competition is divided into three levels based on age groups and covers diverse topics related to national, scientific, and social aspects. Participants are required to read a number of books, write summaries about them, and then discuss their content during the evaluation stages.

Participation will be evaluated based on the following criteria: linguistic correctness, clarity of idea, quality of handwriting, style, and linguistic formulation, in addition to adherence to the general terms and conditions published on the competition website.

The current edition of the competition spans all governorates of the Sultanate of Oman, with events distributed across fourteen cultural and library centres to ensure widespread participation and facilitate student access to competition venues.
