MUSCAT : The South Al Batinah Governorate Police Command has arrested five citizens accused of luring, kidnapping, and blackmailing a man in the Wilayat of Barka after posing as a woman online.
According to the Royal Oman Police, the suspects contacted the victim through messaging platforms while impersonating a woman. After gaining his trust, they persuaded him to travel to Barka, where they ambushed him using multiple vehicles.
The victim was forcibly taken to a private residence, where he was held against his will. Legal procedures are currently underway to prosecute the suspects.
