MUSCAT – According to the Municipality, the approval process begins with the submission of the Modern Building System Approval Request Form, which must be completed with comprehensive supporting documentation.
Key requirements include:
• A brief overview of the system
• Notable local and international projects where the system has been applied
• Details of all relevant local and international certifications and accreditations
• Laboratory test results and reports supporting the submitted certificates
• Calculations for selected projects to clearly analyze inputs and outcomes
• A Civil Defence fire-resistance certificate valid for a minimum of two years (this must be submitted at a later stage in support of the system’s approval)
Importantly, the Municipality emphasized that only applications related to structural elements of buildings will be considered under this process.
In addition, the applicant company must collaborate with a team from Sultan Qaboos University (SQU) for the inspection and testing of system samples.
