MUSCAT – The Authority stated it has initiated field surveys of the affected areas and is working in coordination with relevant entities to verify the source of the spill and launch appropriate environmental response measures.
In an official statement issued on Sunday, July 27, the Environment Authority said it received reports regarding the presence of oil along parts of Salalah’s coastline, and confirmed that it is “closely monitoring the situation in cooperation with the competent authorities, to complete the procedures for verifying the source of these oils, and to take the necessary environmental and regulatory measures in this regard.”
