MUSCAT – Launched in 2022 as an initiative by young Omani entrepreneurs, ‘Osara’ continues to evolve with a renewed focus on visitor experience, sustainability, and cultural engagement.

This year, ‘Osara’ unveiled several upgrades across its facilities, most notably along the seafront promenade, which has been redesigned to maximise ocean views. Enhancements include expanded open seating areas, the addition of new beachfront restaurants and cafés, and improved recreational zones that cater to families and tourists.

According to Majid Samhan Al-Mashli, one of the project’s founders, since launching Osara, the team has been committed to delivering innovative concepts that reflect the aspirations of visitors. Each season, the facilities are upgraded to ensure a rich and diverse tourism experience.

Among this year’s new features is an electric games zone, part of the adventure area, designed to offer a safe and fun environment for children and families. The site also includes a traditional market showcasing Omani handicrafts and Dhofari heritage products, supporting both local artisans and productive families.
In addition to retail spaces, ‘Osara’ features an open-air theatre hosting cultural and entertainment performances for all age groups. Visitors can also enjoy tranquil beach seating areas that blend relaxation with scenic beauty.

A key aspect of ‘Osara’ is its eco-conscious design. Constructed using recycled wood, the project serves as a model for sustainable tourism in Oman.

‘Osara’ is supported by Dhofar Municipality, the Public Authority for Small and Medium Enterprises Development, and the Port of Salalah—all of which aim to empower local entrepreneurs and bolster tourism activities during the Khareef season.
