MUSCAT : As part of its commitment to social responsibility and its continuous efforts to empower Omani youth and build national capabilities, Oman Electricity Transmission Company (OETC) has welcomed 33 students from various higher education institutions across the Sultanate. This comes under the company’s 2025 Summer Internship Program, which spans two months from late June until August. The program aims to provide students with practical experience in key areas relevant to their academic specializations, enhancing their skills and preparing them to compete effectively in the job market.
This initiative forms part of OETC’s broader efforts to foster strategic partnerships with national institutions, especially within the education sector. It reflects the company’s vital role in supporting education and youth development, aligning with the goals of Oman Vision 2040 to empower a qualified generation capable of contributing to the nation’s sustainable development.
Commenting on the program, Mr. Mubarak Al-Jahwari, General Manager of Human Resources at OETC, said: “We place great emphasis on enabling young Omanis by equipping them with the knowledge and experiences needed to succeed in their careers. We believe in the importance of transferring knowledge and expertise to the next generation, enhancing their readiness for the labor market and supporting their growth as future national leaders.”

He added: “We continue to build effective partnerships with educational institutions at all levels—school and higher education—to expand the impact of our training and awareness programs. Our strategies at OETC align with Oman Vision 2040, as we strive to support the country’s development journey by empowering national talent to play a central role in shaping the future.”
It is worth mentioning that OETC, a member of Nama Group, is the only company responsible for the transmission and control of electricity across the Sultanate’s network. The electricity is transmitted from production stations to distributed load centers in the governorates. The transmission network operates at a voltage of 132kV and above to cover most of the governorates in the Sultanate, whether in the north or the south. Furthermore, OETC manages the interconnection lines between Oman and the GCC interconnection network, which operates at a voltage of 220kV.
