MUSCAT : In an alert issued online, the CAA confirmed that it has monitored multiple incidents involving drones being operated without proper permits.
“The Civil Aviation Authority would like to warn of the monitoring of a number of irregular uses of unmanned aerial vehicles (drones) during the recent period, which included operating them without obtaining the necessary permits or using them in prohibited or unauthorized areas,” it stated
The Authority stressed that operating drones without prior authorisation or outside designated zones poses serious safety risks and is considered a violation of Omani airspace regulations.
“Accordingly, the Authority calls on all drone users to fully adhere to the approved regulations and controls, and to obtain the necessary licenses through official channels and approved applications to preserve public safety and avoid any legal accountability,” the alert concluded.
