VIENNA :The Sultanate of Oman’s delegation is headed by His Excellency Abdullah bin Salem bin Abdullah Al Harthy, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Finance.

The 2025 Forum tackles four high-impact themes: financing development, climate resilience, digital inclusion and sustainable transitions for vulnerable economies.

On the sidelines of the forum, His Excellency Al Harthy and Dr. Abdul Hamid Al Khalifa, head of the OPEC Fund for International Development signed two agreements: the first is to finance the implementation of the Khasab-Dibba-Lima Road Project (Sultan Faisal bin Turki Road), and the second is a framework agreement to enhance cooperation between the Sultanate of Oman and the Fund for a period of five years.

His Excellency the Undersecretary of the Finance Ministry also signed an agreement with His Excellency Badr Mohammed Al Saad, Director General and Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Arab Fund for Economic and Social Development, to finance the implementation of the first phase of the surface water drainage project in the Al Rawdha Economic Zone in Al Buraimi Governorate.

The project aims to protect tourist, industrial, and agricultural facilities; implement an integrated network of open canals and construct effective water barriers; and establish water harvesting ponds.
The project will provide a sustainable alternative water source for use in agriculture by applying water harvesting technology, which relies on exploiting and storing rainwater and floodwater.

The ongoing forum also saw the head of Oman’s delegation holding number of bilateral meetings with officials from the OPEC Fund for International Development and representatives of regional and international financial institutions.
