Muscat: Air Arabia has announced widespread flight cancellations from its Sharjah, Ras Al Khaimah, and Abu Dhabi hubs, citing security concerns and the closure of key air corridors in the region.
The low-cost carrier suspended all flights to Iran and Iraq until at least June 17. The latest advisory affects operations to cities in 10 countries, including Russia, Jordan, Lebanon, Armenia, Georgia, Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, and Uzbekistan.
On June 15 alone, flights from Sharjah to Tehran, Mashhad, Shiraz, Erbil, Baghdad, Najaf, Basra, Amman, Beirut, Moscow, Yekaterinburg, Samara, Yerevan, Tbilisi, Baku, Almaty, and Tashkent were either canceled or delayed. Return flights to the UAE from these destinations have also been suspended.

Flights from Ras Al Khaimah to Moscow and multiple routes from Abu Dhabi to Moscow, Yerevan, Tbilisi, and Baku were similarly grounded. Passengers connecting through Sharjah or Abu Dhabi to these locations will not be allowed to board from their point of origin until further notice.
The airline confirmed that routes operating under flight codes G9 (Air Arabia Sharjah and Ras Al Khaimah) and 3L (Air Arabia Abu Dhabi) are impacted. While no specific resumption timeline was provided for the broader network, the suspension to Iran and Iraq is expected to last until June 17.
