MUSCAT : In a statement released today, the Ministry addressed a video clip containing inaccurate claims related to the financial costs and technical aspects of the road project. It affirmed that all road alignments are determined through detailed on-site inspections and comprehensive engineering studies, and that cost estimates are based on approved standards, taking into account actual project data and the challenges posed by the terrain.
The Ministry stressed that all infrastructure projects are implemented in accordance with the highest technical specifications and awarded via public tenders through the Tender Board. It urged the public and media users to refrain from sharing unverified information.
“The Ministry is keen to implement all road projects according to the highest technical specifications, and to award works through public tenders that are announced and awarded by the Tender Board. This project is no exception to these specifications and procedures. The Ministry is working to implement and complete the project according to the approved timetables, taking into account the actual challenges related to the ruggedness of the site. The Ministry calls on everyone not to publish or circulate any information related to the financial and technical details of projects without obtaining it from reliable and approved sources, and to verify the accuracy of data and information,” stated the Ministry clarification.
