Muscat – According to the CPA, the consumer purchased the appliance and soon discovered a defect that significantly impaired its cooling efficiency. Despite contacting the establishment for inspection or a replacement, the consumer received no response.
After reviewing the case, the competent court convicted the defendants for two offenses:
- Failure to provide the service properly and in accordance with its nature.
- Failure to issue the consumer an invoice written in Arabic.
The court imposed fines of RO 600 for the first offense and RO 500 for the second, per defendant.
