MUSCAT : In an official statement, the Ministry referenced Royal Decree No. 88/2022, which stipulates that the Eid Al Adha holiday commences from the Day of Arafat until the 12th of Dhul Hijjah. The decree also mandates compensation for Friday if it coincides with the first day of Eid.
“Since the first day of Eid this year (10th Dhul Hijjah of 1446 AH) falls on a Friday, it has been decided to add Monday, corresponding to June 9, 2025, to the holiday, so that the official holiday for this year will be from Thursday to Monday. So that Monday will be a compensation for Friday, in implementation of the compensation provision contained in the Royal Decree,” stated the Ministry clarification.
