MUSCAT : The launch of the Naqi platform, which coincides with the upcoming World Environment Day (June 5), marks a significant step toward enhancing public access to environmental information and improving daily decision-making through advanced technology.
Naqi is a quick tool that allows users to view air quality indicators with real-time accuracy. The app offers several advanced features, most notably an interactive map that shows real-time air quality based on geographic location, along with detailed reports on air pollutants such as fine particulate matter (PM2.5 and PM10), nitrogen dioxide, sulphur dioxide, and others.
The Naqi app will be available on the website, digital applications, and smartphones for all iOS and Android users, supporting the vision of environmental sustainability and digital transformation in the Sultanate of Oman.
One of the standout features of the app is its visual alert system, which uses a colour-coded scale, ranging from green (good air quality) to red (hazardous air quality), making it easy for users to quickly assess the air quality around them. The platform also provides current weather data to serve as a comprehensive tool that integrates air quality and weather conditions, enhancing the accuracy of users’ daily planning. It supports both Arabic and English to expand the circle of beneficiaries.
